President
Cecilia Sanchez
Cecilia holds a Master’s degree in Latin American Studies and brings over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit and grassroots sectors. She currently serves as a professor at Santa Ana College and Eastern Washington University. Through her academic work and community engagement, Cecilia continues to advance her lifelong commitment to social justice, equity, and community empowerment.
Drawing from her extensive background in social services, Cecilia has witnessed firsthand the profound impact that systemic challenges have on women and children. Her work reflects a deep belief in collective responsibility and advocacy for those most in need.
“I, myself, have seen the impact on women and children throughout my social services career. The impact on children is detrimental, and it is our duty, as a society, to help individuals in need.”

Vice President
Sally Carrillo
Sally works in the behavioral health field, specializing in services within elementary school districts. She has extensive experience across schools, mental health services, and behavioral intervention, supporting children and families with complex needs.
In addition, Sally has worked closely with families facing housing instability, providing case management and coordinated support. Through her professional experience, she has developed strong skills in advocacy, program coordination, family engagement, and ethical decision-making.

Secretary
Kayla Faye
Kayla Faye brings over 15 years of experience in the corporate sector and has transitioned into the architecture field, where her work focuses on home models, residential developments, and structural analysis. Her architectural expertise strengthens housing-focused initiatives by contributing practical insight into safe, sustainable, and functional living environments.
Kayla’s understanding of building design and development allows her to support housing solutions that are both cost-effective and community-centered—an asset to efforts addressing housing insecurity. In addition to her professional work, she has been actively involved in community-based coalitions providing resources and services to underserved populations. She currently volunteers with community centers supporting children in need, reflecting her commitment to creating stable, supportive spaces for families.

Treasurer
Ruby Odinma
Ruby has been actively engaged in advocacy for Black mothers, using her voice on panels and public forums to challenge current disparities in maternal and infant health—particularly the disproportionately high rates of birth-related complications. She is deeply passionate about birthing rights and promotes a holistic approach to maternal care that prioritizes physical, emotional, and mental well-being, including efforts to reduce postpartum depression.
In addition to her advocacy work, Ruby has made appearances in the entertainment industry as a published journalist, serving as a leader and trailblazer for women in spaces traditionally dominated by men. Her work reflects a commitment to representation, empowerment, and systemic change.

Magdalena Miguel
Magdalena brings over 10 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, working directly with individuals facing significant barriers, including housing instability, systemic inequities, and limited access to essential resources. She is a strong advocate for clients, with extensive experience in resource navigation, case coordination, crisis support, and trauma-informed care. Her work is grounded in compassion, dignity, and a deep commitment to empowering individuals and communities to achieve stability and long-term success.

General Board Member
Kaylor Danks
Kaylor brings years of experience working with families involved with the Department of Child Services. Much of her professional background has focused on supporting women and children navigating challenging and often crisis-driven situations.
Her experience has given her a strong understanding of family dynamics, crisis intervention, and the importance of connecting families to the resources they need to heal, stabilize, and thrive. Kaylor is deeply committed to advocacy, compassion, and community-based support.
